A Grandmothers Prayer

How the years have gone by!  It seems so recent that I was just a girl, then a wife, a mother and now a grandmother.   What wonderful memories I have!  God, You have been good to me in so many ways.

My hope now is not to look back but to look ahead to all that I can still accomplish.  My responsibilities have been lessened, but I don't want to sit around and dry up physically or mentally.   There is work to be done.  I can do it.  Please, God, help me be helpful.

Give me the grace to encourage young people & to see things from their point of view.   Finally, lest I undermine the authority of the parents, I guess I should ask You not to let me get too grand to my grandchildren. Amen.
